What is Beeton

Beeton is my answer to the question why. Why must model trains run on 1970s technology? Why must it cost so much for a locked down system that has limited processing capabilities? Why not something simple, easy to expand, and easy to implement from a maker's perspective?

This project started as a way to modernize model railroad communications and now covers everything from embedded system level communication, how to communicate to a computer, and even how to automate events at a high level.

Each one is designed to be modular, going up the stack requires the one below, but you can stop at any point you want. Just want basic control? Stick with Beeton Decoders. Want to communicate by USB? Go with the Bridge. Want to connect to your home assistant? See beeton_ha. Want to go full loco? Beeton Hive with the train mod.

Reason, Purpose and Mission

Make communication open, easy and invisible. See Keeper's Ledger for more details.
