Line pie plate with pastry and put a layer of chopped dates on the bottom of the pie shell. Separate yolks from whites and beat egg yolks, sugar and milk together. Spread egg mixture over chopped dates and bake at 400°F for 25 to 30 minutes. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add a little sugar and spread over baked pie. Return to oven and brown meringue.
